Program
Seven luxury for-sale detached single family homes for people 55 and older
were to be created on this site. Each included its own garage, one or two
master bedroom suites, large open great room with custom kitchen, guest bedroom,
office, sun deck, front porch, and jacuzzi or sauna.
Site
A tight, semi-urban site adjacent to a park and local church was selected.
Solution
The seven homes are arranged on the site to front the street, with alley access
to garages connected to each house with a covered pergola, framing an ample
private back yard. Front porches, brick veneer, and historic detailing create
an attractive and timeless façade and reflect the ambiance of the
neighborhood. The first floor is designed as a large open great room with
a study/home office off of the garden. Two master suites are housed on the
second floor, each with its own bath and sitting areas. Third floor guest
and children’s bedrooms and a finished basement provide additional
amenities and space.
